Historical Plaques

For several decades the Peterborough Historical Society has researched and written almost forty historical plaques, most installed by the City of Peterborough. In 2018 the Board of Directors paused this program to review the challenge of maintaining existing signage, to review the criteria for selecting future sites and to confer with the City on integrating the program with the City’s new virtual tours of cultural and heritage places.

View the list and texts of existing plaques. The PHS is developing an interactive map of its historical plaques which will be accessible through this website.
