October's PHS Speakers Night on October 21 will feature the Peterborough book launch of Stories of Old Victoria County: A Tribute to R.B. Rae Fleming. The book's editors (and authors of several of its chapters), Tom Mohr and Ian McKechnie, will be on hand to pay tribute to the late Fleming, who taught at Trent, and worked at the Trent Valley Archives with Elwood Jones. Fleming also authored the only biography of journalist and media host Peter Gzowski.
The Peterborough Historical Society monthly speaker series takes place on the third Tuesday of September, October, November, January, February, March, and May. The meetings are being held at the Lions Club Centre on Burnham Street, starting at 7:30. Members, guests, and the general public are welcome.
