Hutchison House Re-opening Plan

Including new Scottish Tea and Tour Regulations

The museum will be open to the public three days a week (Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday) with time slots at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm starting July 15th, 2020.

Tours and Scottish Teas require pre-registration and payment in advance. This can be done by calling the museum office at 705-743-9710.

Hutchison House will provide hand-sanitzer for visitors upon entering and exiting the museum. Visitors will be required to wear masks when inside the museum.

Please do not visit the museum if you have recently travelled outside of Ontario in the past 14 days, have or been in contact of a confirmed case of COVID-19 or any of the following symptoms including: fever, new or worse cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, sore throat, headaches, diarrhea, chills, runny nose/nasal congestion without other known cause, nausea/vomiting, pink eye (conjenctivities), difficulty swallowing, unexplained fatigue/malaise/musle aches, abdominal pain, decrease or loss of sense of smell or taste

Only groups of a single bubble are allowed per booking time slot for both tours of the museum as well as Scottish Tea. The max number per tour or table is 4 people.

All visitors will be required to enter through the accessible door on the north side of the museum and exit along the pathway on the west side of the building if having tea or through the front door if you are having a tour. This will allow for one way traffic flow.

Each time slot allows for a 45 min visit (either touring or having tea) this will allow staff time to clean inbetween visitors.
Staff and volunteers will do a deep clean of the museum at the end of each day as well as cleaning bathrooms and hightouch areas (ie. doorknobs, light switches etc) after each visitor.

Staff and volunteers will wear masks and/or faceshields when preparing the food as well as anyother interactions with the public.

Visitors will be required to maintain a 6ft gap while on museum property.

To Register: Please call the museum office for available times to register. Visitors must register in advance for all museum programs including tours and the Scottish Teas. Payment is due at time of registration. Registration for Scottish Tea must be made at least 12 hours in advance of requested booking (ie. If you would like to come for tea on July 15 registration must be completed by end of day July 14).

Cancellation Policy: If you are not able to visit at your requested time you may reschedule or receive a full refund if you notify the museum 48 hours before your appointed visit. You may reschedule or recieve a 50% refund if you cancel with 24 hours notice. You will recieve no refund if you do not show up for your appointed time. At this time Scottish Teas are only being held on the terrace, in the event of inclement weather the teas will be cancelled and visitors will be entitled to a full refund and the option to reschedule.

The museum will not be accepting donations to the collection at this time.
